Means I'll be putting that tutorial into practice as soon as I find a decent guinea pig. That being said, I have issues with the tiles you used for the tutorial (it's the reason why I'm looking for different cave floor tiles, that one doesn't suit the kind of floor I'm needing). I'm not even aware of most of its features, let alone how to actually use them. While I do have GIMP, I've not really used it for much except some basic stuff, like transparency work. Wouldn't have thought of shading in GIMP, but also I'm useless in any graphics-related stuff unless it's pointed out with a big neon arrow and accompanied by kindergarten-level step by step instructions. That was something I was contemplating doing if I couldn't happen to find an existing set that suited my needs.
I would much prefer being directed to already-existing resources to peruse. TL DR: I'm looking for decent cliff walls and cave floor tiles that wouldn't look too out of place with the MZ RTP, as well as some basic camp decorations if I can get them. Caverns and cliffs shouldn't look like they came out of Minecraft. The cave and cliff thing really bugs me though. Low priority on the camp stuff, that's just decoration and I can make do with what I have. I would also like to find, if possible, some tiles for smoldering embers for a nearly-extinguished campfire, as well as some stuff depicting hide tanning, trapper camp style, not a full-on tanner shop.
I don't have any kind of graphics skills, and my basic attempt to make the 2k3 tiles more usable. Since I'm really only using the MZ RTP at the moment (it's all I have right now), the 2k3 tiles are. but they're simply expanded and arranged in the proper format, no updating for better resolutions and color depth. I HAVE that RTP, and even found MV/MZ compatible tilesets made from that RTP. If possible, I'd like to find some cave/cliff tiles that are in similar vein to what was offered in the 2k3 RTP. I'm also not a fan of the fact that there aren't any diagonal cliff tile options, like what was contained in the 2k3 RTP. Specifically, the floor tiles that look like kinda like cobblestone, not a natural cave floor. Obligatory apologies if I've done any of this wrong, first time posting looking for resources.Ī basic search doesn't turn up what I'm looking for, so I'm hoping someone might be able to point me in a direction.
